More Copic creating.

Today I got out my Copic markers again. I have them sitting on my desk and everyday I have wanted to play with them, but time just gets away. So this afternoon I finished my second Copic coloured image.

Copics used: E000, E00, E11, R20, R35, R27, R29, Y15, Y11, V15, V12, B93, B95, 0, 100, C-1, C-3.

The stamp is a Sweet Pea stamp that I bought from Lime Tart. I absolutely adore these stamps. They are just so beautiful. The card is made using products from the June Gourmet Tart kit also from Lime Tart.

I have a few stamps that are just waiting to be used so stay tuned for some more Copic creations soon :)

The story so far..

I think I may have mentioned previously that we have struggled with Kayla's toe-walking since she started walking. She has never really walked with a proper heel toe gait and has always walked on her tip-toes.

We thought that she would eventually grow out of it, but this has never happened. So we took her to a physiotherapist earlier this year and she was diagnosed with idiopathic toe-walking. Which simply means that there appears to be no reason for her toe-walking.

This has led to a few problems in her legs. She has low muscle tone and her tendons are short and tight. So we have been doing a lot of stretching, but this hasn't given great results.

So the next step was to start serial casting. Which we started today. This will only happen for two weeks, and hopefully we will get some improved measurements through her legs.

Kayla was very relaxed about the whole thing, and lay very still as the casts went on. It only took about an hour for both legs to be done. She is very excited about her pretty purple legs and can't wait to go back to school tomorrow and get everyone to sign them.

We go back on Thursday and get these casts taken off and the second set put on. This second set will stretch the muscles and tendons further, to hopefully achieve measurements that are closer to normal.

I am so proud of my little girl. For a child that is normally a little more anxious about things, she has certainly taken this in her stride.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

Take care.

Feeling a bit arty.

Lately I have been feeling a little bit arty. I have been wanting to get messy with paint and just do some creating that doesn't involve too much thinking. Some of my friends out there in cyberspace have been creating Art Journals and I decided that would be something I would like to try. But in order to do that I needed a journal. I decided to be adventurous and make my own. I am not sure what I was thinking at the time, but it is done now.

The journal is roughly 8 x 11.5in and is made from calico.

Inside there are seven sheets of art paper which have been folded in half. I may add more down the track if I have been feeling very creative.

This is definitely something that is out of my comfort zone. It is messy, haphazard and different to anything I have ever really done. But I really enjoyed the process and I think it turned out okay.

So now just to get creative and start filling those journal pages up. I don't think there will be much journaling in it. It will be more just random ramblings, quotes and whatever else I feel like doing at the time. But I will be sure to share with you whatever I do put in there.

I hope you have had a fabulous Saturday.

Take care

My little Cat in the Hat!

For those parents with children at school you would probably know this week was Book Week here in Australia. And with Book Week comes the very exciting Book Week Parade. And today is Kayla's very first Book Week Parade. I was so glad when she wanted the Cat in the Hat as her costume. I thought to myself "I might actually be able to pull that off". All that was needed was a white skivvy, black pants and jacket, white gloves, black fabric and toy-fill for the tail and a some red and white felt.

So with red and white felt in hand, I made a Cat in the Hat hat and bow tie. I used some black fabric and toy fill for her little tail. A smudge proof (oh I hope I have some makeup remover) eyeliner for her little nose and whiskers. I tacked all the pieces onto her clothes and that was it. Okay maybe there were a few choice words said here an there, but overall I think it turned out pretty good.

Doesn't she make the cutest little Cat in the Hat ever. Although when I was plaiting her hair this morning she told me that perhaps she should be Cat in the Plait instead. Such humor lol.

The parade isn't until this afternoon, so I am hoping that the costume (especially the hat) isn't destroyed by then. Although Kayla has promised me she will take very good care of it because she loves it.

I hope you are all well.
Take care

Quick Update!

Hi everyone.

Sorry I haven't posted for a little while. I didn't disappear off the face of the planet, but I was knocked down with the most horrible stomach bug not once..but twice. I want to lose some weight...but that was a very unpleasant way to do it. I a
m starting to feel better again though...yay!!! The rest of the family have been bitten by it as well, so hopefully that is all the nasty bugs gone.

We celebrated a birthday a couple of weekends ago. Our gorgeous Miss Emily turned a big 4. Can you believe it? Wow has time flown.

We are so blessed to have this little girl in our lives, she brings a sparkle to every day.

That is really about it at the moment. No crafty shares just yet, but soon I promise.

I hope you are all well and healthy.

Until next time
Take care

A little beady fun!

Well where has the last week gone? I had so much I wanted to achieve this week, and I am not really sure that I got any of them done lol.

Hopefully this next week will be a bit more productive.Yesterday I went to the Quilt and Craft Fair here in Canberra. There were so many lovelies to look at, and so many talented artists.

I tried to behave and not spend too much money, but as always there were a few little things that caught my eye.

The first was some little easy beading kits from....I can't think of the store name right now, but will add it in later.

I fell in love with these little pixies and knew that the girls would love making them. So we made them all up this morning. I thought they would be a bit fiddly, but the girls did them easily.

We altered the design slightly. Aren't they sweet!

I also fell in love with the bracelet kit and ended up buying and making this one last night.

I really love the colours in this bracelet and I am so impressed with the way it turned out.

I also bought a beautiful doll kit, but she will have to wait to be made until I have time.

I hope you have had a fabulous weekend.

Talk soon.

2S4Y-sketch 57

Hi everyone.
How are you all this cold Sunday morning? I have a lot of things to do today, one of which being house work...so I thought I would try the avoidance technique.

I almost missed doing a card for this weeks sketch over at 2Sketches 4 You, but I managed to make one this morning.

Here is the wonderful sketch

and my card using Bo Bunny Petal Pushers papers.

Just a quick stop this morning, I really should go and do the housework...avoidance only works for so long.

Have a great day.
