Our Cookie Adventures

I have been meaning to put these photos up for a little while. It is of the little cookie adventure I had with my girls one afternoon. I decided it would be fun for the girls and I to make some biscuits. Nothing too flash just the ordinary biscuit base type. So after mixing up the dough, i gave the girls some flour to sprinkle on the table so that we could cut out the cookies. Note to self...the girls still have to learn the meaning of sprinkle. This was followed by the girls carefully (or not so carefully) using cookie cutters to cut out some very cute little cookies. This was all going ok, Kayla had got the hang of it pretty quickly and was pushing out cookies faster than they would bake (another note to self...buy more biscuit trays). Then Emily, who still loves to put things in her mouth, decided she would taste some of the cookie dough. And to her delight, she thought it was "yummo". Needless to say, after this I had to ration the amount of cookie dough that was given to little miss Emily. Finally after all biscuits were made, all that was left to do was clean up the mess. And a very big mess it was. The girls miraculously disappeared when it came to cleaning up time though. In the end it was a very, very messy adventure. But an oh so yummy one too.

Black With 2 Layout

This week the Black with 2 challenge at CBB was, black, brown and blue. I thought this challenge called for the use of the divine Kaiser Cocco range. The layout is of my gorgeous sisters very preggy belly. We also had to make a handmade embellishment of a butterfly. I covered a collections chipboard butterfly with paper, then inked around the edges with distress ink. I then embossed it using my cuttlebug and added some blue beads to it's body. I really loved using this colour scheme.

Let me know what you think.

Help the Kids

Hi guys. I know I have already posted a couple of times today. But this one is for a really great cause. There is a call out for compassionate scrappers to make some really simple 6 x 6 pages for a kids camp. This camp is for abused and at risk children. I am going to try and make a few pages, and I am sure they would appreciate as many people to help as they can. So if you think you have the time go to this website to find out more information

Thanks guys

I have been tagged....

By the gorgeous Aga

So here are 6 things you may not know about me

1) I have lived in 5 different towns/cities
2) I am lucky enough to have two middle names. So both of my daughters now have one of my middle names as their middle names.
3) I have completed a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Biotechnology
4) I have a fear of birds and mice. If the birds would eat all the mice then I would only have half the problem.
5) My husband and I have been together for 12 years and married for7.
6) I have 5 gorgeous nieces and 1 amazing nephew.

Ok now I would please like to know 6 things about:

Another layout

Here is another layout I finished off last night. It is for the monthly kit challenge over at 123 scrapbook. This one is of my very sweet niece Ella. She is just Too Cute!!! I loved using this kit, it was so pretty, and the best thing is I have lots of the paper left over, so I can make some cards too (yay).

Busy Busy Busy

Here is another entry for the 123 Cybercrop. It is from a sketch by Teina Cumming (one of the 123 DT girls). The requirements was to do a layout from the sketch, use the word celebrate and use one of teina's Trimmings. I made one of her lovely Hessian flowers. I cut out flowers from the Basic Grey Eva range for the left hand side, and I also made some alcohol ink leaves. I think it turned out pretty well.

Then last night I quickly made up four quick canvases for the Craft Bits and Bears Breast Cancer Cybercrop. These only took about an hour to make (including waiting for paint to dry). They are so simple and ended up being very cute. I painted them the same colour as the "LOVE MY GIRLS" house that I made, so they all match beautifully in my craft room.

Well that's about it for the time being.

Plenty more scrapping planned over the weekend, so watch this space.

Friends and Mentors

This is a layout that I completed for one of the 123 Scrapbook Cybercrop Challenges. It had to be about someone you are thankful for, and it had to include stitching, a distressed element and chipboard.

I decided to do a layout of my wonderful parents, for without them , I wouldn't be the lady I am
today.

I used the stunning Bo Bunny beau Jardin papers and some Collections chipboard elements.
Those Bo Bunny papers are so beautiful, I almost didn't want to use them at all. I also made some acetate cutouts using the Kaiser Flora and Fauna stamps and Black Stazon ink. I think in the end it come together quite well.

Anyway thanks for looking.

LOVE MY GIRLS

This is my entry for the Craft Bits and Bears Breast Cancer Scrapathon. It is a little wooden house that i picked up from a $2 shop ages ago.

I painted it using Kaiser paints, then used Melissa Francis papers, various flowers and some Kaiser rubons and bling. The owl and leaves are from Collections elements (love them at the moment_.

I had so much fun making this and I will be hanging it in my craft room, where I can see the girls two little smiling faces always looking at me.

OUCH!!!!

My poor little Emily had a bit of a run in with the tiles. The result-a nasty bump on the head. The thud of her head on the tiles made my heart skip a bit (or one hundred). She is a tough little cookie though, she cried for a little bit and then dusted herself off and kept on playing. I think I was more upset about it than she was. Poor little poppet.
