Get Real Baby - Holiday Memories

The Get Real Baby challenge has been given a new spin. We are now given a prompt to set up our post. I love this idea (thanks Lusi) because it helps us to think about more than just what has happened recently. It also gives us a chance to get to know other people a bit better. So the first prompt as you can probably tell from the post title is favourite holiday memories.

Really...our honeymoon at the Gold Coast consisted of it raining the whole time, being heckled by staff at Movie World for being newlyweds (every time a policeman (actor) walked past us he would let everyone around us know we were newlyweds by shouting "lovers", playing tennis in the rain, and generally it being cold and wet (but we still had a great time)

Really...visiting Underwater World when I was in school and being kissed by Duran the seal was very memorable (and very slimy)

Really....watching my daughter's faces light up with so much joy and amazement at the Sesame Street show in Sea World brought a tear to my eye

Really... I almost wet myself laughing watching my mum, dad and sister doing Hula Hoops on the Wii fit when I last visited them ( I don't think I have laughed that much ever, and I then discovered that after having two kids that maybe I need to work on my pelvic floor muscles a bit more)

Really.... I remember when we were kids going and visiting my Grandma for a week on school holidays, we would get dressed up and go to church with her on the Sunday and there would always be a cup of tea and a slice of bun there ready for us (I will always treasure the time we spent with her)

Really.... I loved going to the caves (I can't think of their name right now) with my hubby and mother and father in law when I was around 8 months pregnant. Walking through caves aren't really made for tall pregnant women, but they were abolutely beautiful and well worth the effort.

I am sure I have more holiday memories than that, but my brain is not really working at full capacity at the moment due to the flu that my DD decided to share with me. I can't say she doesn't share I suppose.

If you want to see what this Get Real Challenge is all about, hit the button on the side bar, which will take you to Lusi's blog and will tell you a bit more about it.

Anyway, I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and we will chat again soon.

Take care

My Girl

This is my latest layout using the gorgeous Dancing Jewel papers from Kaisercraft (mmmm Kaisercraft). I fell in love with these papers the moment that i saw them....and yet i have only just gotten around to using them in a layout. Pretty slack on my behalf. Perhaps i just wanted to save them for something special. That's the story I am sticking with anyway :)

I thought I would finish today with a Get Real Baby Post and also a 5 things I am thankful for post.

- I REALLY love the way my girls share everything with me, including their little colds and flu's (cough cough, splutter splutter)
- REALLY I don't know how the mailman can deliver our mail to the next door neighbours house two days in a row (after all our address is on the front of the letter)
- REALLY I hate that my girls are sick and it breaks my heart to see them uncomfortable (although I am secretly enjoying that their noise level has dropped slightly)
- REALLY I need some new bra's, the ones I own are getting very old, and are not really doing anything in the supporting department ( I noticed this when I looked in the mirror and things weren't really as centered and perky as they should be...one of the joys of having two beautiful girls I suppose)
- REALLY today I am happy.

My thankful's
1. I am thankful that I managed to sit my 2 yo up before she was sick all over me
2. I am thankful that no bills arrived in the mail today
3. I am thankful for the extra cuddles I am getting off my sick little princesses
4. I am thankful that I can read stories to my girls whenever I want and I know that they will enjoy it
5. I am thankful that Emily loves me to sing Twinkle twinkle little star to her, even though it sounds a bit nasally with a blocked nose (plus I was not really blessed in the singing department)

Well I hope you are all having a fantabulous week.

A 2 Z Scraplets March Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone.

I hope you have all had a glorious week. I would just like to start off by wishing my Mother in law a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY, I hope you had a wonderful day.

Well the March Sketch Challenge has been put up on the A 2 Z Scraplets blog. Make sure you pop over and have a looksie, and have a go at it to be in the running for some yummy Scraplets. The sketch is by the wonderful Emily Pearce. Below is my take on this challenge.

The journalling is the beautiful poem "Walk with me daddy" that reads:

Walk alongside me, daddy
and hold my little hand.
I have so many things to learn
that I don't yet understand.

Teach me things to keep me safe
from dangers every day.
Show me how to do my best
at home, at school, at play.

Every child needs a gentle hand
to guide them as they grow.
So walk alongside me, daddy -
We have a long way to go.

Author: Helen Bush

I hope to see some of your beautiful creations for this challenge over on the blog.
Until next time
Take care

A2Z Scraplets Goodies

Happy Monday Everybody and a Happy Birthday to my wonderful Dad!!

I have some layouts to share today from my first lot of goodies from A2Z Scraplets. The first two layouts use products from the gorgeous new Easter range. Both photos are from Easter last year, when we gave the girls an Easter Egg hunt. I think they had most of the eggs found in the first 5 minutes, so this year we will have to hide them a bit better.

The next layout uses the new "Dragonfly Set". These are really gorgeous. You get a set of 3 dragonflies in the pack. I used two for the layout, and the remaining one for a quick and easy Birthday card.
This layout has been removed for publication by Scrapbooking memories.

Well that's about it for today.

I hope you have all had a wonderful day.

Get Real Baby

Tonight I have decided to take up a challenge. Well it is more of a "realisation". The amazing Lusi Austin has had the brilliant idea of doing "Get real Baby" posts on her blog. All it involves is every now and then doing posts on the reality of your life. The little things that happen day to day, that we might not normally blog about, or might not really want people to know. So in an effort to "Get real" and give my readers a little more of a look into my life I now give you MY FIRST GET REAL BABY POST.

Really, when my 2 1/2 year old fell asleep on the couch today I was relieved just to have a bit of quiet

Really, when I ran out of paper towel I used tissues to mop up the 4th cup of spilt drink

Really, because my girls keep making 'snow' out of the toilet paper, I am thinking about putting the cheapest nastiest brand of toilet paper you can find on the toilet roll.

Really, I still haven't done the dishes tonight and it is almost bedtime

Really, I made a carrot cake tonight and I have been too lazy to ice it (kids don't need more sugar in their diet hey)

Really, as I am typing this I am wondering whether I should delete this post because I am not sure I want everybody to know these things :)

Well there you have it...that was pretty painless. Feel free to take up Lusi's challenge too.

Take care

Can You Help

It saddens me to hear about how much devastation has come from the Victorian bushfires. My heart really goes out to all that have lost family, friends or homes. If you think that you can help the people that have been touched by these fires, I have put some information below. It doesn't just have to be monetary donations, the Red Cross is also looking for blood donations so that blood supplies will remain adequate for the ongoing treatment of victims. If you think you can help (remembering that even the smallest amount will help) here is some details.

The Red Cross: Call 1800 811 700 or donate to the Bushfires Appeal Fund online

The Red Cross is also looking for blood donation.

Cash donations can be made at Bunnings Stores or through the National Australia Bank:

National Australia Bank:

NAB account:

BSB 082-001

Account: 860-046-797

Other charities and banks have launched also bushfire appeals to help raise money for the victims of the disaster:

Salvation Army: Call 13 SALVOS (137258) or donate online

Bendigo Bank:

1300 366 666 or online

Take care everybody

I am getting published...plus more!

Howdy everybody. I have been a very bad blogger of late. My apologies(slapping myself on the hand right now). This week has been a very exciting and very hectic week. Let's start off with saying that this week (on the 4th of Feb) I celebrated my 28th birthday. Hip hip hooray! Funnily enough I don't feel any older, maybe a little wiser (then again maybe not), and a little more prepared to tackle the world. Watch out world here I come. I got a few goodies, including money which I will happily be spending on scrappy products! And this little baby:

This photo I grabbed from here, cos my little car is already a little dirty and i wanted to show you all a much nicer pic. I will be getting my license in the next month or so, and this is the little car that i will be zipping around in. My girls love it...Kayla stating that it is her favourite.

Another superb birthday present I got, was an email from Scrapbook Creations saying that I AM GOING TO HAVE A LAYOUT PUBLISHED. Wooohoooo. I am slightly excited (can't you tell). It will be in Issue 67 so keep an eye out for it.

Finally i have to say a huge thankyou to the lovely Alyssa who gave me this award. You are such a sweetie!

Awards are so lovely to receive don't you think. I am going to pass this award on to these gorgeous ladies:
Belynda
Monica
Teina
Karlene
Ngaire
Sarah

Well I hope you all have fantastic weekend, and try not to melt in this horrible heat.
Until next time.

Take it easy everybody
